Thank
you for always helping and praying for us with a generous heart.
Here is
bulletin No.11 of “Walking Together”. The content summary is as follows.
The top right photo on page 1 is the mass that
was held celebrating the 50th anniversary of the OLG Schools. OLG
graduates and sisters from around the world had gathered and showed their
appreciation walking down the aisle singing and dancing.
The
left photo shows graduates walking through the city after the mass. The bottom
photo is the special lunch with beef that was served for the 50th
anniversary celebration. This lunch is only served once a year, and is what
many look forward to.
Page 2 is a message from Martha
G. Hernadez Martin del campo (right photo), Misionera Clarisa Superiora
general. As the Misionera, she has visited Sierra Leona and shows her
appreciation for the support from Japan that saved lives. She also talks about
the mass that is now held every week in a chapel made from palm tree leaves after
the end to the Ebola Disease. You can see 2 photos on the left side of page 8.
The bottom half of page 2, is a letter from Sr. Elisa Padilla, the Provinicial Mayor of
Clarisa. Right after the end of the Ebola Disease, she welcomed Martha
G. Hernadez Martin del campo to Sierra
Leona. You can see that although tough times still continue, children and
teachers have started to walk towards the future with aspirations.
From
the right side of page3 to page 4, is a message from Sr. Kazuko Shirahata. She
first talks
about returning
to Japan last July for treatment on her knee in the first half, and
page 4 is a message
following stating that she was stopped by her doctor from
returning to Sierra Leona. It was disappointing news to Sr. Shirahata, who
wished to return to Sierra Leona, but after discussing with Sr. Angeles Torres,
she has decided to act as a mediator for Sierra Leona and Japan. The photo is
Sr. Shirahata praying in the monastery.
From the second half of page 4 to page 5 is a letter from Sr.
Fumiko Yoshida. She talks about the reopening of schools after they had been
closed for nearly 1 year, the 50th anniversary celebration on Jan 29th
and 30th, and students who’ve become orphans due to the Ebola
outbreak.
Page 6 is a
thank you note from Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Sesay, school manager of St. Peter
Cleaver, a school next to
OLG. He says that the school is planning to serve lunch 3 days a week for the
poor children at this school.
The bottom
half of page 6 to page 7, are messages from supporters and notes from the headquarters.
The top right
photo on page 8, is a banner held by the graduates at the 50th
anniversary celebration.
The photo of the boy (middle right) and group photo (bottom) all
graduated from Tamagawa
Shirayuri Kindergarten, and are
also children taught by Sr. Shirahata.
