▼グッドリチさんから、6月中には営業用のコンテナを出せる見込みなので、懸案になっていた英語の図書を輸送したいとの知らせをいただきましたが、諸事情のために出航はまだ先になるとのことです。「時間は掛かりますが、菅野さんからの英語の本は必ず持っていきますのでご心配なさらないで下さい。」とのメールを19日にいただきました。感謝！

💙 3月のフリーマーケット、老体にムチ打って頑
張りました。3人共、77才になりました。

💙 シスタージョセフィンのお便りで、小学校、中学高校、幼稚園がそれぞれ６５年、６０年、３５年の長い歴史を紡いできたことを知りました。創立記念ミサに卒業生のこどもや孫たちが居るということですが、支援者の一人として嬉しいですし、励まされます。
高校２年生のジョセフィンさんのお便りからは当日の熱気やお祝いの喜びがあふれて伝わってきました。「大好きな学校の敷地へ戻って」という一文に彼女の飾らない気持ちを感じ、微笑んでしまいました。
コンテ先生の植民地時代のシエラレオネの解説から、外国による支配を受けた国の国内の実情は予想していた以上に酷いものだと知りました。「目を覚ましていなさい」「恐れるな」「私はあなたがたと共に居る」という言葉が響きます。目の前に置かれた選択のひとつひとつを、内なる神に問いながら、祈りの内に識別しながら、声を挙げるべき時、行動に移すべき時を逃さないように生きようと再確認いたしました。
シスター白幡の信仰についての文章は、切り抜いてパソコンのデスクトップに保存し、時々開けて読み返そうと思います。 長崎県 H.M様
💙 ♰主の平和 会報51号をお送りいただき、何度
も拝読させていただきました。ともに歩む会をずっ
と支援されてこられた菅野様が3週間も入院された
ことを知りました。大変なご病気だったのですね。
くれぐれもお大事になさって下さいませ。
私は暮れから入院して乳がんの手術を受けました。
入院は2週間でしたが傷が治るまで毎週病院に通
い、やっと最近痛みが無くなりました。主を讃美!

“Walking Together” Brief Report
As a supplementary article to Newsletter No. 52
June 27,2026
We are delivering Issue 52 of the newsletter
today; however, we would like to use this brief update to share news that could
not be included in the newsletter itself.
★On May 30, Sister Shirahata fell while
performing her duties in the chapel of the Tokyo convent and was rushed to
Setagaya Central Hospital. She was diagnosed with a fracture of the right femur
and underwent surgery at the hospital. The surgery was successful, and she
remains hospitalized there, undergoing rehabilitation. Plans are being
considered to transfer her to a specialized rehabilitation hospital if her
recovery progresses well. In any case, it appears the recovery process will be
a long one; please keep her in your prayers. The photo above shows her with a
member of our administrative office who visited the hospital on June 18—two
ladies, both 84 years old. I was greatly encouraged to see the Sister smiling
and looking much more energetic than when I had visited her on June 1.
★I received word from Mr. Goodrich that, while
he expects the shipping container for operations to be ready sometime in June,
the actual departure will be delayed due to various circumstances. In an email
sent on the 19th, he wrote, "It will take some time, but please rest
assured that I will definitely bring the English books from you, Mr.
Kanno." I am truly grateful!
★Due to space constraints, we were unable to
include the "Voices from Our Supporters" section in Issue 52. We are
sharing some of those messages here instead. We draw great strength from the
smiles of the children in Sierra Leone and the messages we receive from our
supporters. Thank you very much.

of Sierra Leone know and celebrate the joy of the resurrection of the Lord

💙 We pushed ourselves to the limit at
the March flea market. All three of us are now 77 years old. (M.F. of Group A)
💙 Through Sister Josephine's letter, I
learned that the elementary school, junior high school, high school, and
kindergarten have woven long histories of 65, 60, and 35 years respectively.
I'm delighted and encouraged as a supporter to hear that the children and
grandchildren of graduates will be attending the founding anniversary mass.
Josephine's letter, from a second-year high
school student, conveyed the excitement and joy of the celebration.
The line, "Returning to my beloved school
grounds," revealed her unpretentious feelings and brought a smile to my
face.
From Mr. Conte's explanation of colonial-era
Sierra Leone, I learned that the domestic situation in countries under foreign
rule is far worse than I had imagined.
The words “Stay awake“, Do not be afraid,” and
“I am with you” resonate deeply with me.
I have reaffirmed my resolve to live in a way that ensured I do not miss
the right moments to speak out or take an action – moments discened through
prayer and by consulting the God within regarding each choice placed beore
me. I plan to save the text about faith
written by Sr. Shirahata to my computer desktop so that I can open and reread it
from time to time. (H.M.)

Thank you for sending Newsletter No. 51; I have read it over and over again. I
learned that Mr. Kanno—who has long supported the "Tomoni Ayumu Kai"
(Walking Together Group)—was hospitalized for three weeks. It sounds like you
were seriously ill. Please take good care of yourself. As for me, I was
hospitalized at the end of last year and underwent surgery for breast cancer.
Although my hospital stay was two weeks, I had to visit the hospital weekly
while the wound healed, and the pain has finally gone away recently. Praise the
Lord! Thank the Lord!
Seeing the photos of Sister Shirahata and Sister
Yoshida in the newsletter gave me strength. It is a blessing from the Lord that
